Unique and modern in its architectural design and complete in facilities, Hotel Equatorial Shanghai was opened in June 1991. This hotel complex comprises three sections. A 9-storey block boasts a retail area on the first level which is complemented by 8,000 square metres of office space on levels two to eight. The main tower is the 27-storey hotel with 520 luxuriously furnished guest rooms and suites. Each room features a host of modern facilities which befit a superior first-class hotel. In addition, the newly refurbished Equator Club Floor caters to the needs of discerning corporate guests. 
Food and beverage outlets offer a delightful variety: there is fine western dining (The Steak House), Japanese cuisine (Kampachi), Chinese cuisine (Golden Phoenix), Lobby bar (The Lounge), Nightspot (Blue Moon) and a 24-hour coffee house (The Cafe). A ballroom easily accommodates up to 800 people while spacious meeting rooms are also available.
To cater to every need of each guest, Hotel Equatorial Shanghai has a fitness and leisure centre on the fourth floor - the Shanghai International Club.
